DiP-SuSaKlim

Superfood from Saxony-Anhalt; climate-adapted crop rotations in organic farming and development of digital value chains for marketing.

Project description

Value chains in organic farming in the project region are to be created in six work packages.
Starting with an exact trial on the Merbitz trial field on climate-adapted crops, including protein and oil plants, and a FoodLab on the premises of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, the findings are to be transferred into practice.
The scientific monitoring of a crop rotation as well as the survey of the potential for processing and marketing plant-based products is planned with agricultural businesses.

Goals

The aim of the DiP joint project “Superfood from Saxony-Anhalt” is the cultivation of innovative, climate-adapted crop rotations in organic farming and the processing of plant-based organic products in the focus region.
Innovative, sustainable and green value chains from climate-adapted crop species with potential for structural change in the Saxony-Anhalt coalfield are being initiated and designed.
The project focuses on organic farming and the processing and use of harvested products for human nutrition in the organic segment.
This is intended to support long-term prospects for economic development and jobs in the region.
